We finally have our puppy!
I am a little bit behind on posting this, but that is because having a puppy and a 3 year old is a lot of work. We got our Basenji puppy Laini on Friday Feb. 20. She is adjusting well. Everett is enjoying having a playmate, and she seems to enjoy playing with him as well.

Basenji puppies again.
We are getting really excited to be able to bring our puppy home, but for now we are just enjoying our weekly visits and all the pictures the breeder sends us. The puppies are all getting so big. Here are a few pictures. A couple from our last visit and also a couple the breeder sent to us.
If they get much bigger they won't all fit.
All four of the puppies cuddled up sleeping.

Sledding!
Surprise!
We went in for our 20 week ultrasound on Tuesday February 3. The baby appears to be healthy and very active. We were hoping to find out the sex of the baby, but he/she had his/her legs crossed the entire time we were there and the ultrasound technician couldn't get a good view. She said that she thought it might be a boy but the umbilical cord was right there so she just couldn't be sure of what she was seeing. So unless we decide to pay for a 3D/4D ultrasound later on down the line we won't be finding out the sex of this baby until he/she is born.
I think Everett is excited to get a new sibling. He will kiss my belly and talk to the baby. I think the whole thing of the baby being in my belly is a little confusing to him though. Whenever we talk about the baby in my belly he tells me that he has puppies in is back and he wants me to kiss his back and talk to the puppies like he does to the baby in my belly. When we went to the ultrasound he wanted the ultrasound technician to look at the puppies in his back, and when we left without her looking at his puppies he was a little upset. He started crying and saying he didn't get his turn. The ultrasound technician was confused so I had to explain to her that he thinks he has puppies in his back and he wanted to see them. Hopefully he will get over the puppies in his back in a couple of weeks when we get to bring our puppy Laini home.
Here are a couple of pictures from the ultrasound. They may be a little difficult to see, but they are the best ones we could get.
